Our new Blog!

Okay Folks! We have started a new Blog! I have missed posting as alot of things have been happening around here that I have been eager to share. I don't know if I can play "catch up" about all of it but for starters...

We began exploring this neat part of the country last weekend with a trip to the local zoo. It was a teeny tiny zoo but was really fun. We happened to be there on EarthDay so there were lots of fun activities like arts and craft projects and games for the kids. It is set on the Brandywine River, which wasa beautiful setting. Next time we are definitely going to bring a picnic and hang out for a while. This was like the cheapest family adventure ever. Admission was $12 for all of us and we let the boys get an ice cream for like a dollar each! That makes for an even better family fun day (smile).

The weather has been beautiful here for the last several days so the little boys and i have been finding new parks to play in. This area is going to be even more beautiful as Spring continues. The trees are all turning green and the Daffodills and tulips and cherry blossoms are in full bloom.

I have started training for a volunteer program that runs the local Crisis Hotline. They are the call center for rape crisis, suicide, child abuse and a couple other types of crisis. After a few months of experience, after the training period I will have the opportunity to accompany victims to the hospital and be a support person for them. It's really interesting and is going to be a great way for me to become more involved in this community.

My camera is still kaput and hopefully I will be able to replace it soon. Until then I am left with pictures from the past or just my words, sorry. Jack and Carla are coming to town this weekend and we have some fun things planned. I am going to work on the layout of this page now and play around a bit. Have a great Thursday! kc
