4 years!!!

Wow! Yesterday was Cooper's 4th birthday! He was sooo excited! All he said all day was "This is the best birthday ever". He was a little charmer, well, some of the day...I am choosing to forget the other parts of the day. Because, let's face it...he is Cooper Jay Trouble, after all! (smile)

We went to the grocery store to get the stuff to make his birthday cake and Coop chose pink cake and pink frosting. While he was explaining to me that he wanted to also have pink caandles I was thinking to myself, Chris is going to have a cow! So I explained to him that maybe too much of one color was too much so he conceded to getting the blue candles. Chris did remind me when he saw the cake that his boys have penises and I had to explain the whole thing that Cooper really wanted the pink cake and at least I got him to get blue candles. We all smiled. Only Coop could get away with a pink cake.

I love my Cooper Jay! He is definitely one of a kind! He makes me smile and laugh more than any other person in the world. He is hilarious! I have to remind myself to smile sometimes when I want to scream because Coopie works off the pleasure principle...and that is it. He hasn't yet learned empathy so he is totally consumed with being happy and thinks the whole world should be equally concerned about his happiness. He has a little light that shines through his eyes and makes the world around him a big adventure and playground! I think I learn from him to enjoy more and think less...to slow down.

So Happy Birthday to my Coopie! I love you and am so happy that you are my baby!

Coop will always be Coop and we wouldn't want him any different. Each boy has such distinct personalities and he has such a fantastic way of making everyone share in his joy of life. I have said since he was very small he can make me laugh with just his look, so intense at times. They are such wonderful boys and I am so grateful to have them a part of my life. Love to you all. HAPPY BIRTHDAY,COOPER! I hope this is your best year, ever! :o)

Kaycee, you had me in hysterics! A pink cake...how wonderful! Danny would've felt the same way...he reminds me that my son has a penis, too.
Cherish Cooper and that light in his eyes.....my Jess has the same light in her eyes..... it means they are destined for great things! (I can't believe how quickly Jess went from 4-17, she graduates the day after your birthday.) You are right when you say you learn so much......all my children have helped me be a better person! Yes, I had some trying times,too.... but focusing on the good and laughing certainly helps! So does an understanding Husband. :o)
Lots of love,
Jan
*Early "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" to you and Austen! May birthdays are fabulous!
On the downside.....we are broke and sick of cake by the time the month is over. :o)
