No -Go on Dad's surgery

Yikes! I was at a dr. appt. this morning and I hurried home to hear how Daddy's surgery went, since they didn't call on my cell. Apparently they decided it was too risky to do this surgery right now. The anesthesiologist had been hesitant all along, bit my dad was given the go ahead by his cardiologist and other docs. This morning when he was prepped, they decided the risk was too great and that his heart may need some fixing up first. Dad is super dissapointed and let down, but also relieved I think because they said this morning that there was a decent risk that he could have a heart attack or stroke during the procedure. It is the anesthesia that is so risky, not the actual surgery. So he is going to go back to the cardiologist and see what needs to be done about that and then we'll see what needs to be done before he can have the elective procedure.

I am so grateful that they learned how serious the risks could be BEFORE he was put under! But I know there are mixed feelings on Dad's end because he was so motivated to do this . So....More prayers, that he finds peace with what has happened and that the doctors can make good decisions about what needs to be done from here.

Love to all!!!!! kc
