A good Monday

The day started off great. I am usually a Monday person. I love the idea of a fresh start each week and look forward to Mondays and meeting my goals for the week. I had parent teacher conferences at the boy's schools today. They went great and I loved hearing their teacher's perceptions of each of them. I was especially glad to hear that Austen has lots of friends in class and is sometimes too social. I think the teacher meant it as a bit of a negative, but I am glad to hear that he has adjusted so well to the new school and all.

Austen was eager to help me cook dinner tonight, I had something planned, but he was just dying to learn how to cook Hamburger Helper. So he had his first lesson in the art of H.H., which has always been a Callaghan fave! The boys and I ate together and we mixed our peas into the H.H. as a funny, but Aus & Coop were very happy with their new invention. They want to make it that way forever now...Cheeseburger H.H. with peas...yum! But I swear they both ate two enormous helpings and when Chris came home I fixed him the leftovers and Cooper helped himself to most of it, poor Chris (smile). Jamie was not so impressed. He doesn't like meat so much these days. So he picked out all the noodles and ate his veggies. The only meat he likes right now is chicken nuggets or hotdogs...weird -eh?

Chris is finally home at a decent hour tonight. I am sooooo looking forward to this long holiday weekend with him home! We have lots of home stuff planned, or at least I do. We have to get this place organized and go through toys and stuff in preparation for Xmas. Most of all, we NEED time together, all five of us! I don't know if we will put the tree up this weekend or not, we haven't talked about it. At one time we had talked about getting a tree from the orchard where we pick fruit & veggies.

OKay, I know that Hamburger Helper and plans for the weekend aren't earth shattering blog-worthy events, but that's my life today and I love it! Hope you enjoyed your Monday as much as I did! XOXO

We actually already put our Christmas tree up. It is amazing what being at home can do for you. Last year I didnt even want to put the tree up and this year it is up the day before Thanksgiving. Weird. Have a wonderful long weekend with Chris home.
