We had such a fun trip to see our relatives this past weekend. I thought I would sum up our fun and share. Warning...this may be loooong (smile).
The boys and i left Thursday and picked Chris up in Philly at work, then we all drove the 6 hrs. to the cottsge that my parents rented so we could all stay together. The cottage was absolutely perfect in every way!!!!! It had a water view, but no beach. But there was a big fenced backyard for the boys to run around in. It was sooo good to see my parents, especially my Dad since I haven't seen him since we moved. He looks fabulous! He looks 10 years younger since his heart surgery a few months ago.
Friday we went to breakfast at a cute little place in South Dartmouth and pigged out! My dad took us in a tour of the area because it is part of the area where he grew up. he showed us where his high school girlfriend lived and told us a bunch of historical info. about Padenarum (sp?). He knows so much about cool stuff! We pretty much had Friday to play and do what we wanted so the kids played outside and I went to lunch for a lobster roll...my absolute favorite in the world!!! ...with my parents. Chris stayed home with Jamie Pie so he could nap, good, sweet daddy!
That night Chris, the boys and I all went to my cousin Erin's house to visit with her and her sweet husband, John, and their precious girls. We had a great visit and I discovered two new yummies! One is blueberry beer...yum! The other is rosemary and olive oil flavored Triscuits. It was a pretty early night, but it was sooo good to have some time alone with them. The kids all remembered eachother and played so sweetly together.
Saturday Chris took the boys to The Cape so Pat Price could keep them while we went to the wedding. Yes, she is a saint! My cousin, Sally was married Saturday afternoon and was a beautiful bride. The wedding was great and we got to see all of my aunts and uncles and my cousins, too. I have the best cousins ever! I love to go up and see them. I think half of the uests spent the evening part of the reception in the bar watching the Red Sox kick some Colorado bootie.
Sunday Chris flew home and I headed to The Cape to visit and get my boys. I missed them...but boy it was nice to not have them for 24 hours! I got to love on Miss Payson Jayne. She is such a doll-baby. I couldn't get enough lovin'. She is gorgeous and sweet and perfect! Laura looks great! She is an incredible mom...a natural.
Sadly, the boys and I drove home on Monday. It took about 7 hours, which is pretty good coming from Cape Cod. The only stinker of the whole trip is that the radio/CD player in my car is broken. So it was a quiet ride when the boys were resting and I had no way to tune them out when they were noisy (smile).
We are getting into our routine again now that Halloween is over. Chris and I folded a millioin loads of laundry last night. Enjoy the pics! kc
