...But keep the old, One is silver and the other gold!
I had the best thing ever happen today! My wonderful mother was playing around online(she was home sick) and looked up an old friend of mine from elementary school and middle school in Arizona. I tried the number she found and Lo and Behold.... She answered the phone! How cool is that? I got to talk to a dear friend who I haven't talked to since right after we moved to Texas in 1989.
Sabrina and i met in the fifth grade and became best of friends all through middle school. We weren't as close in high school just because we went to different high school and kinda did our own thing. But we still talked and stuff. After I moved she would write to me and then as time went on I guess we lost track of eachother. At least until today. WOW!!! I am totally excited about this! She doesn't sound the same as when she was 15?/Wonder why that is (smile)
Sabrina was an expert at making her bangs stand up almost totally straight into that "wall" that we all wore around 1986 and froze into place with Aqua Net hairspray. We went on several trips together and it was her mom's Wagoneer that I almost ruined the first time I got to try driving a car at her parents ranch. We also smoked our first cigarette together in a park in Newport Beach, Ca. Then I came home and threw up. She is the friend I was with the night I was sort of got arrested for ding dong door ditching. The police brought me home and her parents were out. She ran all the way home and answered the door pretending like she had no idea I was even out. It was sooo funny. My dad didn't think it was so funny when I called to tell him (smile). We went on our first sort of date together with some boiys from our eighth grade class. We all rode in a limo to a fancy dinner and then our school graduation dance. I have those pictures somewhere...These are the times I realize i need a scanner so I can post old pics. Lets see..what else did we do? I know we did lots of crazy stuff for being such good girls.
Okay.. I have to get back to feeding my munchkins, but I just had to share. I think I have some new pics of the boys to post later when I have calmed down. Love y'all! kc

I remember that night quite well. You did forget to add in your blog the comment you made to me when you called. You said "Mom, I was picked up by the police tonight and the back seat of the police car is so TACKY." I almost died thinking, what did she do and all she's concerned about is the tackiness of the cruiser. That is a memory that a Mother does not forget!
Love Ya!
Mom
Hi, Mrs C!! (aka My Middle School Mom) Wow...it's been a long time! What you didn't know about the Newport Beach police is that this was all they had going on down there...ding dong ditchers, noisy house parties, the occational surly drunk, but that's pretty much it. I have such great memories of getting ready at your house. I loved that you lived right next to the school. It made everything so easy... especially since I lived in the boonies. I remember too trying to sneak out a couple times during sleepovers but always chickening out. I have those same 8th grade graduation pics somewhere too. I can still smell the aqua net and hear the Duran Duran playing. Think how much we contributed to ozone damage with that junk! There are so many wonderful memories and I am happy to be in touch with you once again! You have a beautiful family! I think Cooper looks exactly like you and Jamie looks exactly like your sister Courtney. That's definitely how I remember Courtney at one. Austin is a combination. And you look exactly the same! Lots of love to your whole family, Sabrina
How fun!!!! I love finding old friends. That is so neat. And I remember hearing the story about the tacky back seat - you do know that is something Mackenzie will say if she ever gets picked up by the police!
