These topics have been on my mind lately. I watched a talk show the other day where the people dropped money, like $20 bills on the ground and then stopped passersby to see if they would claim the money. I was surprised how many people, respectable people said, "Oh yeah, It's mine". YUCK!
The other day we ordered a pizza from the place we always do and I also ordered a Tiramisu. The pizza was delivered, but no dessert. The same thing happened last time we ordered. Bummer. So the driver said he would come back in about 15 minutes. I was so frustrated as I thought about this so I called the manager of the restaurant. I told him this was the second time this had happened and I was frustrated, not becuase of my dessert being delivered at a different time than the pizza, but mostly because the driver had to make an extra trip, taking time out of his delivery schedule and I couldn't afford to tip him extra. I told the manager,"This is what I want to happen, I want to not be charged for the Tiramisu and I want that money (which I had already paid) to be given to the driver since he had to make an extra trip becasue of someone else's mistake." I asked him, "Will you be able to accomodate my request?" He paused for a long time and then told me that he would be happy to do that and he wished that all complaints were delivered with such a resolution in mind. When George (the driver) returned, I tried to explain what I had worked out for him, but I am not sure he understood. I hope they gave him the $3. But I do not trust that they did because He did not seem to have been told abouot it by the restaurant. Yucky feeling.
Outside the other day talking to some neighbors, a car with a couple of African American 20 somethings year old boys drove by and the neighbor said, "more of them" Triple YUCK!
I hate being dissapointed by people and these are just a few ways I have been exposed to people being lacking in morals, honesty and respect recently. Yucko
