Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing

You all remember that book, right? One of my favorites. So I have been encouraging Austen to read it for the past year or so. He has fought with me about it. He tried to read it and just wasn't interested..yada yada yada. Well, last week I pushed harder and said,"Just read it. I promise you will like it". He has been reading it every night during reading time and I haven't said anything about it. Tonight he pulled me into his room and went on and on about how funny it was and how much Fudge (the little brother) was like Coopie. Then he even asked me if we can go check out the next book, Superfudge, at the library. He was thrilled when I told him I actually own that book. WOW! Even wowier...he said, "You were right, Mom. I am so glad you made me read it." I am so glad he enjoyed it and I know I may not hear the phrase "you were right" very often as he is in full blown 'tween' mode.

I love my Aussie. and maybe he will respect my personal opinion a bit more about some things...well, maybe. Have a great Tuesday y'all!

I loved those books!! I am sure that the "tug" will love "Are You There God, It's Me Margaret?" as much as we did!
