Excuses, Excuses!

Yup...more excuses about why I haven't been a bloggin'. Well, we received and installed the new keyboard for my laptop and the next day the A/C adaptor bit the dust. It had been giving me trouble for a while, but it is expensive to fix so it is on the low priority list. Hopefully in a couple weeks we can have it fixed. Until then, I have to share Austen's computer and I never get down here.

Austen competed in the State Numbers Bee Tournament last Saturday. It was soo cool and I am so proud of him. He was in third place for a while, but in the end he did not place. He was pretty bummed out, but we are so proud of him, and it was probably a good lesson learned that sometimes we try something new and all we get out of it is the great experience. Winning isn't everything.

The weather here has been beautiful so the boys have been playing outside non stop. We got Cooper a pair of knock off Crocs for $5 at Walmart and it was the best investment in shoes EVER!!! I was tired of washing his tennis shoes and worrying if they would be dry for school, etc. These things are great! He can get as muddy and gross as he wants and I just have to give them a quick rinse in the sink...Woo Hoo!!

Speaking of Coop, I have a conference with his teacher next week. She now thinks it may be a good idea to send him to Kindergarten instead of holding him in Pre-K. I am torn. I am a HUGE advocate for giving any child an extra year to mature and be ready. I will have to hear what she has to say and we can work together to find the right solution for him. He hasn't had his evaluation yet, by the district, with regard to his motor and speech issues. I may want to wait until I have those results to make my final decision.

Jamie Pie has grown himself a full blown two year old attitude. He answers every question with a big ole' "No!" and has stronger opinions about everything we do. We had a Family Sing Along Day at Cooper's preschool Wednesday and Jamie had SO much fun!!! I was so glad to see him follow along and all, becasue he will be at that school two mornings a week starting in the Fall.

This time of year is CRAZY busy! I still haven't made any b'day party plans for the big boys. Cooper has very definite opinions about a party so I better get on that! I think Austen would rather have a couple of friends do something fun and maybe sleep over.

Have a great weekend, Y'all! Love, Kaycee

Yaaay Austen~!!

Austen had his Science Olympiad Competition yesterday. The whole district competed including Charter Schools and home schools. Austen competed in 4 events: measurement, structures, food webs, and number puzzles. He and his partner won FIRST PLACE in two of the events, number puzzles and food webs. We are so proud of him!!!!The pictures are of him and the rest of the kids from his school and Austen and his best buddy, Nabeel. They were partners in all of the events except one.

Also, we found out yesterday that Austen was chosen from his MAth Club to compete in the State Numbers Bee next week. He was so worried that he would not be selected, as only one kid per grade is chosen along with an alternate. He is overjoyed to get to compete in such a big event. He has worked really hard with both the Math Club and Science Olympiad Team this year. I am so proudof my little braniac!

Still Around

Hey Folks! I have sooo been on a blogging hiatus. We have had such a busy month. We had the best trip home to Texas ever! I was all prepared to give a full rundown on all that we did, but now enough time has passed that it all seems blurry. I wilil share some highlights, however. Oh- and a new keyboard for my laptop has been ordered and will be here next week some time. So then all my crazy typos should be much better! (smile).

Okay, our trip began on a really BAD note. Jamie was THAT kid on the flight out. He screamed, cried, kicked and was an all ouot devil-child the entire flight. I ended up sitting on the floor in the back of the plane with a really nice flight attendant for most of our journey. I cried as much as Jamie did for a solid two hours...and I am not a cryer! It was so terrible. So we made an appointment with our much loved pediatrician, Dr. Harpavat and she prescribed a heavy duty antihistamine for the ride home. He was seriously drunk and slept or was nicely subdued for that flight, thank goodness (synonym for Dr. Harpavat!).

It was so fun to sleep in the room that I slept in before I was married in my parents houose. I felt like a kid again in that regard. The kids had so much fun seeing all their G'parents and Aunts and Uncles and of course Sweet cousins!!!!! I got lots of pics, but haven't downloaded the software for my new camera yet so I can't share them just yet. My dad made the kids a sandbox to play in and it was a BIG hit! Perfect thing to keep them busy during our brief periods of nothing going on/planned. I got to have a couple of grownup nights including wine...woo hoo! It was just the best trip ever. Total family trip. We spent all of our time with family. Carla and Jack took each of the kiddoes for a night by themselves and had all of them one night together. We took all six of the cousins and had their pictures done and they came out so dang cute! They are the sweetest things!

One night we stayed at the hotel where Queeny works. It is called The Great Wolf Lodge. Oh my stars!!!! What a place!!! It has an indoor ginormous waterpark and all kid themed activities. We had so much fun. I was so grateful that Jackie came with us to the park, because Cooper wanted to go one way and Jamie was set on going where he wanted to. We split up and he she followed Coop and I went with the Jamie Pie. He was fearless! After we were all water logged we went to our suite, which was beyond awesome. It had two queen sized beds then a sitting area with a fold out couch and an upstairs with another bed and bathroom. Talk about perfect! Jamie was begging to go to bed after all the water fun so I put him down and the big boys headed out in the hotel to play the MAgiQuest game. It is a scavenger hunt type of game where the kids have to use a magic wand and a special map to search through the hotel and accomlish tasks on a mission...so Austen's cup of tea! Coop was finished around 8pm so Aussie brought him back to me and went out on his own to continue his quest. He came back to the room at 11:30 and told me he just had to use the restroom and then was going back out. I had to tell him no it was so late, but he was up at the crack of dawn the next day and out the door. So funny! There was a big tree that tells stories and a story time in the evening along with a show in the lobby. Honestly...the coolest place to take kids!

When we got home Chris was gone on a business trip and he finally came home last Friday. We were only together for 36 hours between March 6 and April 11...Yuck!!

So now things are getting back to normal. We like normal! (smile). Asuten has had a big week at school and Cooper has been enjoying the beautiful weather and playing outside as much as I will allow (which is a lot). Jamie turned two while we were in Texas. We had an Easter/B'day party with the whole family. His birthday cake was our Easter bunny cake that Pat Price has made a tradition with us. Like I said, I have pics, just not yet.

The Office is going to start so I am going to sign off for now, but we have stuff going on in the next few days that I am eager to share so I will be posting. Have a great night! kc

Safe, Sound and Smothered!!!!

Yes, Chris is home! And the word smothered doesn't even do justice to the ay his boy attacked him and fought for his attention tonight. I felt like sitting back and eating bon-bons or whatever women of leisure do...those guys forgot I existed for the most part as soon as Daddy walked in the door. I love it!

We had dinner and then Chris tried to get a little alone time with each. After Jamie-Pie went to bed we watched Charlie Brown Easter Beagle . I love those Charlie Brown specials so does Aussie. Coop on the other hand was not digging it. He was stressed out about a boy skipping, Woodstock's decorated birdhouse, the communication between Snoopy and pretty much everyone. Good Grief! As Charlie Brown would say. I think I won't invite him to watch the next one. (smile)

So we are all on a Daddy high! Now tomorrow he can help me pack. Woo Hoo! I wil post tomorrow. I should have some video. Cooper has a program at school. Sweet Dreams!
